Evening Glam Ready in SGTC Clothing

Today I’m rocking an all black evening look. I realised I don’t have a lot of black in my closet. Black is always cool but I’m sure by now some of you may have noticed I’m a big fan of anything with colour. The items in my closet mainly consist of neutrals (such as white, nude, tan and beige) and loads of colour ranging from bright to dark shades. I probably have a handful of black items which are mainly essentials.
If you keep up with my Instagram or Snapchat story then you would have seen a post I put up on Valentine’s Day about how I’ll be collaborating with a Nigerian brand called SGTC clothing on their upcoming summer collection. It’s such an exciting and great opportunity. They use Ankara to create their magic and that’s one of the reasons I’m delighted to work with them. I love how they play around with Ankara and other patterned fabrics. It definitely makes them stand out.
Y’all know Ankara has a special place in my heart 😉
The first piece I’m showing you from the pieces I received are the high waisted Deronke pants as seen in the photos. My favourite thing about these pants is the Ankara detail on the sides of course. I also love that it’s made from a stretchy fabric, which makes it comfortable and easy to wear.
I never really post evening looks so I decided to create an all black evening look by going for a 90’s laid back look with a little hint of colour. I paired the pants with a crop top and a flowy satin duster coat. I also accessorised with a purple bow bag I got some years back and a plunge drop necklace which is always perfect with plunge dresses and tops. I had some gold heels on, which you can’t see as they were covered by the trousers. Black is generally easy to style, as you can wear it with anything. So I believe it’s lazy and easy and that’s why so many people tend to have a lot of black in their wardrobe. However, it is also mysterious in a way. I also think it’s modest and arrogant. Arrogant in the sense that it gives off the ‘I don’t bother you, so don’t bother me’ vibe lol.
Can you tell I had fun doing the twirl with my duster coat lol.
You’ve all heard about good old Tower Bridge right? It’s just across from London Bridge and lt’s one of the iconic landmarks in London and British culture. It was definitely a great choice of location to shoot this look as it’s always beautiful in photos during the day and at evening time. We were a little skeptic about shooting here because it’s normally a busy tourist spot but luckily for us it wasn’t so busy when we got there. So I was pretty happy about that. It was really windy and rained occasionally. Fortunately for me, the wind worked in my favour. I was blown baby 😉
P.S I can’t wait to show you the rest of the pieces I got.
Do you like the way I styled my Deronke pants? and would you like to see more evening looks from me? Let me know in the comment box below.
As always, thanks for stopping by 🙂
Have a fab week loves x
