A Casual Friday at Kings Village
It was a beautiful day at Kings village and I had fun shooting this look with Kel (He happens to be my In-law 🙂 ). Today I decided to keep it simple and casual in this off the shoulder Ankara dress. Y’all know how I feel about Ankara. It’s only right I embrace the African print being African and all 😉 . The sleeves for this dress are detachable, therefore it could be worn with or without the sleeves. Depending on the sort of look you’re trying to achieve. I would definitely say keep the sleeves on.
This outfit is perfect for daytime and It’s something you should definitely include in your summer closet because of its light and comfortable nature. I’m Loving the colours on this fabric.
I visited a place called Kings Village. It’s an orphanage located at Iriebe in Rivers state, Nigeria and it took about 45 minutes to get there from Port Harcourt. Besides going to visit the kids at the orphanage, it’s also a pretty place to visit and take photos. I’m really impressed with the way they’ve made the place up and maintained it so well. It’s got a bunch of pretty gardens, that I wasn’t allowed to take photos in, due to not giving enough notice. Luckily I was able to use the other side. It’s also got a pool, incase you feel like taking a quick swim. They have guest rooms that they offer for short stay at a very affordable price and I had the opportunity of staying here for a few days late last year and my sister’s court wedding reception was also done here.
It’s a nice weekend get away if you’re looking for something pretty chill.
I styled this look with a yellow bag because I love the way yellow looks against this shade of blue. I also put on some nude heels and a pair of cat eye sunglasses to give off that retro vibe.
I’m doing things a lot differently this summer by putting those Ankara pieces to use 🙂 and I hope you all get some inspiration from every piece.
